LYNX is Thomson Reuter’s newsplanner application. Users for this application included Managing Editors, Photographers, Journalists, and Videographers to name a few, and are managing their capacity, availablity and resources through this one tool.

This is another project were the complexity of the types of end users was extremely important. Personas played a viatl role to identify the needs of each type of user and then grouped those to create efficient journeys and interfaces. 

Throughout a full user centred design process, research was the initial step in analysing the state of the legacy systems and the path that would enable the team to explore simplification methods towards key KPI's.

The visual representation of  this technique proved an increase in efficiently moving forwards to adjust components based on the user personas and preferences. 

LYNX Newsplanner has now become the best newsplanner proprietary application for Thomson Reuters to manage news events as and when they happen.
